Associates in Health information technology?

My background is Commerce – Business Administration. That degree almost seems useless here. I am considering Health information technology as a career. To get started I’ll have get an Associates degree and then get the certification to get started. Is all this worth it?

I would like to get into the health information technology field. What do I need to do?

I would like to get more information about getting started in the HIT field. I do not have the finances to pay high tuition costs, what is a low cost alternative that will give me good training? I went to ITT technical school and was intrested, but I could not afford it. Any suggestions?

I went to Harrison Career Institute(on-campus) for Medical Office Assitant and obtained a certification. Now I want to continue my education onward to an associate degree to become a registered health information technician (RHIT). I want to work at my own pace.
